Walnut Class Term 3 Week 4

What an amazing  week we had!!!

English

This week in English we have been focusing on the structure and vocabulary of non-chronological reports. Walnut Class have been linking their geography learning with their English and have looked at information texts about volcanoes. They have explored the features of non-chronological reports and created their own. They have then revisited punctuation, and checked that their own sentences were correctly punctuated.

Maths

Both Year 3 and Year 4 completed challenging investigations, using number facts and different calculations to solve problems.

Afternoons

In the afternoons Walnut Class has been just as busy! In Geography we have been looking at describing and understanding key aspects of volcanoes .

In Science we have looked at fossils in detail and how they are formed and then made our own fossils in the mud in our garden area.

In P.E. we have continued to look at hockey skills and how to attack/defend.

To end the week on a high, we created our own canvasses, printing volcanoes on it. We thoroughly enjoyed that!
