Term 2 week 6

Hello :)

What a brilliant week we have had in Oak Class!

English

This week we have been writing recounts as if we lived during the time of the Great Fire of London. Oak Class have loved writing their recounts and have applied their knowledge of the past tense to ensure that their writing flows naturally.

Maths

In maths this week we have finished learning about 2D and 3D shapes. We have created patterns using 2D and 3D shapes and used our knowledge to problem solve. We have continued to look at our times tables and have focused on our 3 times table this week. I am proud to announce that Oak Class won the TT Rockstars trophy this week which is amazing!

Afternoons

In the afternoons we have been just as busy! We have looked at the impact of the Great Fire of London on houses today and compared different sources of information. Oak Class are beginning to discuss how reliable a source is and had some very grown up conversations around this.

In R.E. we went for a trip to St Martin's church in order to learn about the Christian festival of Christmas. They can recount the Christmas story and discuss the importance of it for some Christians.

Christmas Play

I just wanted to say how proud I was of every member of Oak Class in their performances this week. They have worked so hard learning lines and songs, dances and timings and deserve a huge round of applause!

Have a lovely weekend and see you next week :)
