Term 4 - Week 2

Apples and Pears have been busy this week. We started the week with us finding a bread trail outside. The children were very excited to find out who had left this in our outside area and came up with the story Hansel and Gretel.

We spent our week looking at Hansel and Gretel, exploring the characters and talking around what we can find in a forest. The children in their own learning choose to write a list and explore the construction area by making a trail. They children were great at using different language such as over, under, through. This linked back to our Maths from last term.

In Maths we explored patterns. We linked this to the shapes we looked at last week. The children moved their own learning forward and came up with many different patterns using numbers, letters and objects.

Apples and Pears had an amazing time for World Book Day! They enjoyed completing a class quiz on naming the different stories, making book markers and going on a scavenger hunt. Thank you for your support with your child’s amazing costume.

Please don’t forgot we will be starting Forest School next week, which will take place at school on Thursday and Friday. Your child will need some old warm clothes and wellies to change into.

Thank you for all your support,

The EYFS.
