Term 5, Week 2

This week we have followed on from the children’s interests and took a class vote for our story of the week. The children choose ‘What the Ladybird Heard’. This lead our on to looking at different farm animals and the jobs that are associated with a farm. The children were really interested in what a farm does and becoming a farmer. They have also enjoyed a mixture a sun and rain this week, where they have found lots of different mini-beasts, such as spiders, slugs, snails and ladybirds.

In Maths this week we have continued to look at 3D shapes and compared them to 2D shapes. Children made farm animals using different 3D shapes and junk modelling.

The children have followed their interests and become quite creative this week. They have used and joined different materials to create their objects, kites and farm animals.

In PE we are still continuing our tennis skills. This week we have learnt to hold a tennis racket correctly.

On Friday we had lots of fun during the Holi celebration!

Have a lovely weekend,

The EYFS Team.
