Cherry Class Blog Term 5 Week 3

Good afternoon parents and children, welcome to our latest Cherry Class blog.

We continued with our class text 'City of Ember' and explored both character and setting descriptors this week, making predictions linked to prior understanding of the story to date.

In Numeracy, Year 5  have investigated both coordinates, grids and translation this week, whereas Year 6 have investigated the parts of a circle and drawing 2D shapes using set measurements for length and angle size.

Science on Monday, the class used torches to conduct an investigation into the direction of light and what could affect the direction.

In RE, this week the class looked at 'Judaism' and synagogues, looking at similarities and differences between other religions and their special places of worship.

This morning the class had a great team-building session working together in unfamiliar groups to build shelters in our Forest School Area. Commando Josh, who led the session, was very impressed with their co-operation and ability to listen and work together.

Enjoy your weekend everyone

See you Tuesday next week.
