Walnut Class had another amazing productive week. Although the weather wasn't so kind, we still managed to enjoy our Science outdoor learning of finding patterns in the way the size of shapes of shadows change.
This week we have continued to look at the story of Marcy and Riddle of the Sphinx in our Literacy learning trying to identify all the amazing writing features we can use to write our own stories in the next couple of weeks. This week we looked at how the pyramids were built and what they would have looked like at the time of their construction to help us write a setting description. We also looked at personification which we used to describe Marcy’s descent into the Sphinx.
In Maths Year 4 have been finishing off learning their times tables with the 7s, 11s and 12s. Although we have looked extensively at them, please make sure your children are practicing their times tables regularly to increase their speed and accuracy. Year 3 have begun to look at their multiplication facts and how this links to simple division facts.
In our History learning we have been looking at how the Egyptian civilisation would have been different to way we live today. We also continued with our DT learning by creating some of the precious items that Egyptian Pharaohs would have been buried with so that we can add these to the tombs we have created. In our RE learning we listened to the story of Rama and Sita in preparation for our Diwali workshop next week.
Have a lovely weekend
From Mrs Jacobs and Mr Dodd.
