Term 4 - Week 5

Apples and Pears have had a busy week preparing for their class assembly. They enjoyed being able to share their learning with you. We are very proud of all of them and how much they have grown in confidence over these last terms, being confident speakers and performing with our songs and actions. Thank you all for your support!

This week the children have thrived with their nursery rhymes, therefore we continued to follow their interests and they choose their favourite nursery rhyme and made it their own by changing some of the words. Some then showed their performing skills and performed their new rhymes on the stage to their peers.

The children have explored and taken an interest in our windy weather this week. A few started to make kites using their own choice of resources from the art area. Lots of other children then choose to explore what they could make and if it would fly in the wind.

In Maths we have looked at one less and subtraction this week. The children used different resources to create number sentences and we have explored how we can write these too. The children have developed a quick recall of saying a number and taking one away giving the new number, sharing theses with their talk partner.

Pears have enjoyed their first two days at Forest School and have been the first class to explore the new Forest School outdoor classroom! How exciting! The children explored the woods, built dens and use salt dough to make faces on the trees. They are looking forward to spending next week down there and toasting some marshmallows.

We hope you have a lovely weekend,

The EYFS team.
