Walnut Class Term 1 Week 6

Another productive week of amazing learning in Walnut Class. I am very proud of them all.

In Literacy we created newspaper reports based on our text for this term, called 'Stig of the Dump.' They pretended to be reporters and interviewed Barney about his experiences with Stig. The most amazing newspaper reports were produced.

We continued our place value learning in Maths and are now outstanding in using a formal written method (column method) to add and subtract up to 3- and 4-digit numbers.

During our Science lesson, we created eye-catching and very interesting posters to tell people how to keep their teeth healthy.

In our topic learning we compared life in Britain from Stone Age to Bronze age, and created a newspaper report containing all the relevant information.

During our art lesson we explored how Stone Age people created their own jewellery and discovered that they created necklaces and bracelets from animal bones. So we made some salty dough and made our own.

Have a lovely weekend.

Please remember next week, on Friday morning, it is Walnut Class Assembly and you are all invited.

Ready, Steady, Read competition

A huge well done to everyone that has taken part in our Ready, Steady, Read competition. Could you please return your sponsorship form and the money collected to your child's class teacher by Friday 21st October so they can be passed to Miss Beamish.

Thank you and keep reading!
