Walnut Class Term 2 Week 6

Walnut Class have enjoyed another week of fantastic learning – it is hard to believe that we are approaching the last week of Term 2!

This week in Literacy, children planned and created their own adventure stories, based on 'Marcy and the Riddle of the Sphinx.'

In Maths this week, Year 4 children have learnt about commutative calculations. For example, they understand that 8 x 4 x 2 is the same calculation as 8 x 2 x 4 and so on. Year 3 have used their 8 times table knowledge to calculate multiplication division problems.

We enjoyed the two Christmas productions of Reception and KS1 classes. As a whole class activity, we recapped these productions in class and children discussed and shared the parts they enjoyed most and gave their reasons why.

For our History learning this week, we learnt about how the organs of the Pharaohs were preserved. We've designed and sculpt our own canopic jars and will paint it next week, with metallic paints.

Finally, we ended the week, discussing different charities and how they support people's needs. Children also created their own Christmas adverts.

Have a good weekend.
