Well, we have had another great week, packed with loads of fun and amazing learning!
During Literacy sessions we focused on the features of diary entries. The children use first person, past tense and descriptive language in their writing.
For Maths, Year 3's focused on addition and subtraction up to 3-digit numbers, using the written column method.
Year 4's focused on problem solving in a specific context. They planned a whole event.
During Topic learning the children used their researched information to create their own podcast to encourage Mr Bowles to visit the Amazon Rainforest! The resulting podcasts were absolutely outstanding!
For Science we recognised that environments can change and that this can sometimes pose dangers to living things. The children created amazing learning, for example:
Polar Bear:
What biome do I live in?
Tundra – Arctic circle
What is happening to their habitats and why?
The ice caps are melting because ….
This is leading to …
How can we help to stop these changes?
Humans can….
I can …
We went to watch the pantomime 'Sleeping Beauty' at the Hazlett Theatre this week. The children really enjoyed themselves and were exceptionally well-behaved. We were very proud of everyone.
Have a lovely weekend.
