Term 5 Week 5

This week has been our first full week for a while and we have packed lots in. Year 3 really enjoyed their trip to Brogdale Farm on Wednesday, where they got to tour the farm on the back of a tractor and go pond dipping for insects. Year 4's are excited to go next week.

In Literacy, we have been completing and editing our Hot Writes about Carnivorous plants. It has been fantastic to see how many of the features we have been learning about this term are included in the children's final pieces of learning.

In Maths, we have all been looking at money and how to find totals and give change. Year 3 have been using part whole models to add different coins, while Year 4 have used their column method to find totals of different prices.

In Science we have looked at how water is transported in plants and we have planted some celery in coloured water to see how the dye is transported through the plant. In Art we have started to master our use of clay by building and sculpting our flowers which we will paint next week. The children have really enjoyed designing animations of their names. Some of the children have saved their projects using the class login details.

We hope you have a lovely weekend.
