Cherry Class Blog Term 3 Week 4

Good afternoon everyone!

Today marked a special day in the term, as the class performed their class assembly to Year 5 and 6 and parents. The children did so well, I was really pleased with all their efforts, in particular the readers and the boys who completed the 'ratio' sketch (And not forgetting Nawal the Slave of course!!)

In Literacy we have investigated the features of newspaper and later in the week we looked at dialogue and how to incorporate it into the learning. In Numeracy we looked at the multiplication of fractions and in class today both Year 5 and 6 completed a numeracy quiz linked to their learning so far this term / year.

In History we investigated the various different roles that men and women (both rich and poor) performed in Ancient Mayan times and talked about the importance of Mayan farming. The children wrote their own 3-course menus using solely Mayan ingredients, including squash, tomatoes, corn, avocado and monkey!!!

In PE we enjoyed glorious sunshine to complete a hockey session and then went inside for a lesson linked to pull and pull balances in gymnastics.

Have a lovely weekend everyone
