Term 4 - Week 1

What a fun jam packed week, Apples and Pears have had for their first week back!

In Literacy, we decided to follow the children’s interests for Pancake Day and linked this to the story Mr Wolf’s pancakes. The children really enjoyed making their own pancakes and choosing different toppings before most importantly getting to eat them! We looked at healthy eating and spoke about different types of food and what makes them good for us.

In Maths, we explored 2D shapes. The children recognised the different shapes, therefore we explored the properties. They made their own pictures using shapes, drawing and labelling the different shapes.

In PE this week, Apples and Pears were happy to be back together for their lesson time. As from next week, we will be doing PE on a MONDAY. Please, if you haven’t already, can you bring your PE kit in.

We have some exciting news to share……. Apple and Pear Class will be attending Forest School from Thursday 9th March. The children will need a set of old warm clothes and old shoes or wellies which need to be in school for the 9th March. We will be attending forest school every Thursday and Friday until the end of this term.

Don’t forget it is World Book Day on Thursday 2nd March! We can’t wait to see all your amazing costumes!

Have a lovely weekend,

The EYFS Team.
