It has been another busy week of learning in Elm Class and the children are finishing off their learning on newspaper features before we begin planning our final piece next week. We have been looking at spelling and punctuation features this week including homophones, pronouns and apostrophes for plural possession. We will be including all of these in our final newspaper reports about the Iron Man.

In Maths, both Years 3 and 4 have been looking at division. Focusing on what division means and different ways of partitioning numbers. Then Year 4 have started to look at the formal method for division including exchanging.

In our topic lessons we have been learning about how Roman houses influenced house today, and looked specifically at the hypocaust systems they had for heating their homes, much like our underfloor heating today. We have compared this to other Roman inventions that have influenced our lives today. In computing we have used all our photo editing skills to create our own fake images. We really enjoyed combining images to make our own weird and wonderful creations and will be refining and evaluating our learning next week when we finish off our fake images. Have a looked at some of the projects so far on the left. We also had a visit from Becky Keith, a pastor, who came to tell us about what it means to her to be a Christian; she explained how her church community works and got us to think about what we would consider important if we had our own churches.

We hope you had a lovely weekend.
