A huge well done to Oak Class for their learning this week! We are really settling and beginning to get used to the expectations in our lessons.
This week, we have been focusing on the basic skills surrounding literacy. We have been building sentences, remembering capital letters and full stops, applying our phonemes to record words and then reading our learning to ensure it makes sense. We have been linking our history topic of the Victorians to our learning this week and have been writing about the different jobs that children might have done during Victorian England.
This week, we have begun to look at place value. Oak Class have been looking at what each digit within a number is worth and partitioning the numbers using the vocabulary tens and ones. We have also been focusing on counting in twos and linking this to our times tables.
We have conducted our first science experiment this week! We have been making predictions about what we think might happen. We have been enjoying our history lessons on the different jobs that children undertook during the Victorian period and have all agreed that we wouldn't have wanted to grow up then! We had the opportunity to role play some of the jobs and found them a lot of hard work! We have also begun our topic on Christianity and looked at kindness.
Please remember that home learning is set on a Friday. It has been set this week via Teams and is due back by Thursday 22nd of September 2022.
Reading records should be in school DAILY. I collect all reading records in on a Friday to see what you're all up to at home.
P.E. kits should now be in school. If your child does not have their P.E. kit in school, it needs to be on their peg for Tuesday morning.
