This week Apples and Pears have been looking at celebrations. We looked at Diwali, 'The festival of light' and how it is celebrated. The children really enjoyed completing their challenge this week and choosing during continuous provision to create, write, draw, make something to represent Diwali. The children created Rangoli patterns, Mendhi hand designs, lanterns and firework pictures with coloured pens or paint. They were very excited to use our new art easel in the outside area.
In Maths this week, we have been continuing to look at our numbers. To challenge the children they were asked how many different ways they could represent the number 5 and 6 or different ways they could make the numbers. We introduced our new vocabulary, add and takeaway to create a number sentence. The children enjoyed using different manipulatives to show this.
In PE this week, we have started our new topic which is dance. We started our lesson, thinking about different animals we could dance like. The children come up with lots of ideas and were great and showing their moves! Remember Apple Class will be having their PE session on Tuesday afternoons with our PE coach and Pear Class will continue to do their PE session in the morning.
Thank you for all your continued support!
Have an amazing weekend.
