Term 4 - Week 6

Apples and Pears have had an exciting week. We received a letter on Friday from the Easter bunny who left some treats around our outside area. The children went on a hunt to collect and count how many cubes they could find and received a chocolate treat from the Easter bunny. We had an exciting visit from a furry little animal too…… a bunny called Floppy. The children were amazing at being quiet and stoking the bunny carefully. We discussed where rabbits live, how old he was and what they like to eat. Our RE this week was about the Easter story and why some people celebrate Easter, we also looked at Holi and how some people celebrate this festival too. It was a shame that we didn’t get to have our powder throwing this afternoon but this will be re-arranged after the holidays on a sunny day.

We have also been exploring our Art skills this week and made Easter cards and baskets. We also looked melting chocolate for our Rice Krispies cakes. We discussed what the heat from the microwave does to the chocolate, changing it from a solid to a liquid. The children enjoyed eating these too!

In Maths this week we have explored one more and one less using different manipulatives and exploring number sentences. We have worked on our fluency this week and spent time with our talk partners doing quick Maths and naming one more or less when our partner says a number.

Pears have enjoyed Forest school this week and spent time in our new forest school hut, having hot chocolate and toasting marshmallow. Thank you for all your support with the children’s outfits.

We hope you all have an amazing Easter holidays! We can’t wait to see you for the summer term!
