Hello all!
What a brilliant few weeks it’s been in Oak Class! The children have continued to impress us with their positive attitudes, creativity, and enthusiasm for learning.
🌊 Beach Day Fun
We had an amazing Beach Day to end our week! The children’s fantastic behaviour and happy faces made it a truly special day. There was laughter all around as we enjoyed beach-themed activities and soaked up the sunshine. Well done, Oaks, for representing our school so beautifully!
🎭 Class Assembly
A huge WELL DONE to all of Oak Class for their wonderful class assembly. We are extremely proud of how confidently and clearly you shared your learning. A big thank you to all the parents and carers who came along and for your kind feedback—it’s always so appreciated!
📚 Literacy
In Literacy, we’ve been consolidating our knowledge of prefixes and suffixes, as well as exploring past and future tense in our writing. We also had great fun using Spelling Shed and taking part in some friendly Hive game competitions on Spelling Shed to boost our spelling skills!
➗ Maths
This week, we’ve been tackling equivalent fractions, recognising how halves and quarters are connected. We've also been working hard on our 2, 3, 5, and 10 times tables—what great progress everyone is making!
🏃♀️ PE
Sports Day is nearly here, and we've been getting in the zone with some exciting practical athletic games. We've also made sure to stay safe in the sun, keeping cool and hydrated while we build up our speed and team spirit!
📖 RE
In RE, we learned about the Exodus story and discussed the themes of bravery and faith. The children shared some thoughtful ideas and showed a great understanding of this important story.
🎨 Art & DT
We’ve been exploring different design techniques to help us build cars that really move! The children are showing great teamwork and problem-solving skills—engineers in the making!
💻 Computing
In Computing, we created our very own comic strip storyboards to plan out our Scratch Jr projects. We carefully chose which commands we’ll use and thought about the actions our characters will take. We can’t wait to see them come to life!
🥁 Music
In Music, we continued to use untuned instruments to explore rhythm and beat. The classroom has been full of music and movement—well done for keeping time so well, Oak Class!
🧠 PSHE
This week in PSHE, we talked about friendship and how our emotions affect the way we relate to others. The children had some great discussions about how to be kind, listen well, and support one another.
👏 Well done for all your hard work, Oak Class! You continue to make us proud with your kindness, curiosity, and determination. Keep it up! 🌟
From the Oak Class Team :)
