Term 6 Week 1

Happy Friday all!

Well done, Oak Class, for a fantastic first week back for Term 6! You've come back full of energy, ready to learn, and we’re so proud of how you've settled in.

Here’s a little peek at what we’ve been up to this week:

✏️ Literacy

We’ve been exploring prefixes and suffixes and learning all about diary writing. We even teamed up with our friends in Ivy Class for a fun activity—pretending to be worms on an obstacle course! This helped us imagine what a day in the life of a worm might be like, inspired by our focus text, Diary of a Worm. Wiggle-tastic work, everyone!

➗ Maths

In Maths, we’ve been diving into fractions. We learned how to spot equal and unequal parts, and we practised finding halves of shapes and quantities. Great thinking and sharing, Oak Class!

✡️ RE

We explored how Jewish people show their faith and took time to reflect on our own beliefs. It was a thoughtful and respectful discussion—well done for your maturity and kindness.

🏃 PE

This week in PE, we focused on agility. We moved quickly, changed direction, and had lots of fun while keeping active!

😊 PSHE

In PSHE, we talked about emotions—what they feel like and what we can do when we experience them. You all shared some brilliant ideas about how to manage big feelings.

🎵 Music

We had a rhythm-filled session in Music, using body percussion to keep a beat and rhythm. Clap, stomp, and tap—what a musical bunch you are!

💻 Computing

In Computing, we learned about algorithms—the instructions that tell technology what to do. You were great at understanding the importance of clear instructions and thinking like computer scientists!
