What a lovely hot, sunny week we have had. The children have been buzzing with excitement, especially in English, where we've had a fun time with rhyming poems. This week, we explored the joy of rhyme before moving on to our wordless book, 'Flotsam’. We really got into the beautiful pictures and chidlren created their very own rhyming poems inspired by the story. It’s amazing to see their imaginations come to life!
In Maths, Year 5 have been getting to grips with decimal numbers, learning how to multiply and divide them by 10, 100, and 1,000. Year 6 has also been busy diving into 'Oliver!', and they can’t wait to show their parents all the exciting things they’ve been working on.
This week in Science, we learnt about the circulatory system and how the heart works. We drew labelled diagrams of the heart and wrote information about how it works, what arteries and veins are and the aorta.
In Computing, we’ve started discussing copyright and how it will affect our website project. It’s such an important topic as we move in to building our websites.
In PE, we’re still loving our athletics and handball sessions. We have been practising our running ready for sports day.
In Geography we learnt about how mountains are formed focusing on 3 of them: Fold, Fault and Dome.
In RE we are looking at 'Green Religions' focusing on the environment and activists roles. This week we looked at Greta Thunberg.
