What an exhilarating week we’ve had in Cedar Class!
While some of our adventurous children embarked on a residential trip to Bewl Water, indulging in paddle boarding, canoeing, axe throwing, archery and other activities, those of us in school also made the most of our time together. Throughout the week, we prioritised retrieval practice. In English, the children explored various types of poems along with essential spelling rules, which significantly enhanced their poetic skills. Meanwhile, in Maths, the children took charge of their learning by identifying areas where they required a bit of extra support, and we worked collaboratively to tackle those problems.
On Wednesday, the fun continued with our Forest School adventure and a lively PE session! The children loved the hands-on experience that Forest School offers, allowing them to connect with nature.
Thursday saw the whole class reunited, and we kicked things off with our Cold Write. I must say how amazed I am with the remarkable poems being crafted in Cedar Class! In Maths, our Year 6 returned to rehearsals, whilst Year 5 delved into real-world applications of decimal numbers.
Our PE lessons have been buzzing with enthusiasm as we learnt about athletics and handball; it’s been fantastic to witness the children's engagement. To round off the week, we tackled some important concepts around managing our money and recognising online risks. We also learnt about healthy lifestyles, why sleep is important and recognising how exercise impacts our life.
Well done, Cedar Class – it’s been a great week for all!
Have a great weekend.
