Week ending 3.7.26

Another busy and thankfully cooler week in Oak Class.

In English, children have been learning about the features of a letter and wrote apology letters from Duncan to the crayons in The Day The Crayons Quit by Drew Daywalt.

In Maths, children have been learning how to tell the time: mastering the o'clock and half past before moving on to quarter past and quarter to the hours. Next week we will move on to five minute intervals so help with this concept at home would be marvellous!

In History, children learnt about chronological order and ordered some of the significant events in the life of Queen Victoria. In Art, children drew faces in the style of Picasso and in Science, children learnt about what animals need to survive in the wild: shelter, food and water. Children researched different wild animals to find out how each survived without human intervention. In computing, children continued programming the bee bots, setting up intricate mazes from classroom items and using these to navigate them around.

Have a wonderful weekend.
