Week ending 26.06.26

Wow what a scorcher we've had this week! Sadly, sports day was postponed as was any strenuous physical activity due to the heat. Children continued learning however and trying in vain to stay cool indoors.

In English, we continued with the book The Day The Crayons Quit by Drew Daywalt and children wrote and designed postcards from around the world.

In Maths, we have been looking at position and direction and learning about quarter turns, half turns, three quarter turns and full turns both clockwise and anticlockwise.

In Science, children learnt about animals and what they need to survive in the wild and in History children learnt how to put events in chronological order and discovered that Queen Victoria had 9 children and still lived to a good age of 81. They put her life events in chronological order including her coronation and wedding. In computing, children continued using Bee Bots and combined this with their Maths knowledge to program the Bee Bots around a maze they made using items from around the classroom like books, chairs and stationery.

The heat has made us tired so we're hoping for cooler weather next week, and more fabulous learning.

Have a great weekend.
