Cherry Class Blog 2025 26 Term 5 Week 2

Good afternoon everyone

I am writing this on Friday afternoon, the sun is blazing down and it's the beginning of a three-day weekend!

In Literacy this week Cherry Class continued with their whole-class text City Of Ember. We discovered a little bit more about the two central characters and the children wrote character descriptions about both.

In Numeracy, Year 5 finished their small block of learning linked to 'Angle' and moved on later in the week to 2d and 3d shapes whilst Year 6 focused on coordinates in four quadrants, translation and mirroring.

In RE we looked at Christian churches (inside features) and looked at the similarities and differences about Anglican and Baptist churches (for example, Baptist churches only baptise adults)

In Science this week we investigated white light and light source and proved how light travels in a straight line. In PSHE we looked at attitudes towards money and in PE we went onto the field to play cricket!
