Next week, our Year 6 will be doing their Year 6 SATS from Monday – Thursday. There will be a breakfast club for Year 6 only in the Gold Room from 8:15am. Please ensure your child is in school and on time as they will start as near to 9:00am as possible and finish around 10:30 – 10:45am.

In English, we are continuing to read the book City of Ember by Jeanne DuPrau. We have written character descriptions and explored why some of the characters believe that the city is in danger. We are also exploring the Unknown Regions.

This week in Maths, Year 5 have been learning about co-ordinates and translations. They have been understanding and using degrees. Year 6 have been consolidating their learning in preparation for their SATS next week.

In Science, we explored how light reflects by shining light on a variety of materials and resources to observe this. We discovered light reflects better on light coloured objects.

In Computing, we have modified our designs on Tinkercad ready to print over the next few weeks.

In PE this term we are learning about cricket and OAA (Outdoor Adventurous Activity). This week, we focused on team building. We were given tasks and challenges to face as a team; communication was the key. In cricket, we have started to learn how to hit the ball with the bat, how to communicate as fielders and how to count and make runs.
