Week ending 26th June 2026

It has been a very hot week in Maple Class and I would like to say a huge well done to all the children for showing such resilience in the hot weather.  It hasn’t been easy but they have remained on task and completed all their learning.

In literacy we have been finalising our learning on biographies with a Hot Write about Usain Bolt using all the features and skills from this term; remembering to write in chronological order and use heading/subheadings to organise paragraphs.

In numeracy, Year 3 have started their learning on shapes and angles.  They learnt how to draw shapes accurately, compare angles and how to identify the difference between horizontal and vertical. Whilst Year 4 have also been learning about symmetry and how to reflect in a mirror line whilst consolidating their knowledge of angles and shapes.

This week, we took art onto the field and using our previous learning about perspective, draw our own landscapes. It was lovely to see the children putting what they had learnt into action.  They then choose from a range of different media with which to colour (pencil, chalks, pastels etc).

Have a great weekend ☀️
