Term 3, Week 1

This week Apples and Pears have settled back into our school routines really well. In Literacy we have been focusing on the story 'Elmer in the snow'. The children have enjoyed discussing the snow and ice as we were even lucky enough to get some snow fall this week whilst we were at school. The children explored the ice and we discussed how it melts back into water. 

The Children created their own Elmer designs using different colours and patterns. We then used some of their designs to make Elmer using AI. The children really enjoyed seeing their creations come to life! 

In Maths we have learning about subitising. This is where the children have to say the amount without counting it first. The children rolled a dice, subtilized the number and made that many jumps along the number track. We also sang five little monkey and five little ducks, subitising how many were left each time. 

In PHSE we recapped our school values and classroom rules. We discussed being respectful, responsible and resilient. We linked this to being resilient and trying our best with our weekly challenges. 

Please remember to bring your child's PE kit back for our first PE session on Monday and their school water bottles.
