🌟 Welcome to Rowan Class! 🌟
It has been absolutely wonderful to see you all again, and we can't wait to get started on what promises to be an exciting year ahead! 🎉 We hope you all had a fantastic summer holiday. ☀️ The lovely weather certainly gave us plenty of opportunities to get out and enjoy ourselves!
This week, we have been busy settling into our new class, getting to know one another, learning our classroom rules and routines, and discussing our expectations for the year ahead. 😊
✍️ English
We have had a great few days reflecting on our summer holidays and turning our memories into some fantastic pieces of writing. 📝 Children chose to write stories, diary entries, descriptions, and even poems. We were so impressed with their creativity!
🔢 Maths
In Maths, we have been playing number games and exploring different mathematical challenges to get our brains warmed up! 🧠➕➖ We will be moving into our Year 5 and Year 6 groups from Monday.
💻🤝 PSHE and Online Safety
During the afternoons, we have been learning about relationships, both online and offline, and discussing how to use social media safely and responsibly, particularly when it comes to group chats.
The children created some thoughtful posters showing ways to stay safe online and offline, as well as how to build and maintain healthy, positive relationships. 🌈⭐

This term, we will be learning Football ⚽ and Basketball 🏀.
📱 Mobile Phones: If your child needs to bring a mobile phone to school, a parental consent form must be completed. Further information about this will be sent out shortly.
Phones are collected each morning, stored securely throughout the day, and returned at home time. Generally, children should only need a phone if they walk home independently. We would also encourage parents to regularly monitor their child's phone use, particularly social media activity.
🚶 Walking Home Alone: If your child will be walking home independently, please send a note or letter informing me.
📚 Kent Test: The Kent Test for registered Year 6 pupils will take place in school on Thursday 10th September.
🎤 Class Assembly: Our first class assembly will be on Friday 25th September. We can't wait to share our learning with you!
