Term 1, Week 5 (2/10/26)

WOW! October already and it has been another fantastic week of learning in Rowan Class! We have continued working hard across all subjects, and there have been some amazing examples of effort, creativity and resilience. Well done, everyone! πŸ‘β

✍️ English

We have continued exploring our class text, Goodnight Mister Tom. πŸ“–

This week, the children have been making thoughtful predictions about what might happen next in the story and using their understanding of the characters to justify their ideas. We also wrote the next part of the story after William was found by Mr Tom. ✍️

There was some truly fantastic writing produced, with children using exciting vocabulary, detailed descriptions and creative ideas. I have been very impressed with the effort shown by everyone. 🌟

πŸ”’ Maths

Year 6

Year 6 have been developing their calculation skills by learning long multiplication and short division. βž—βž•

The children have been working hard to set out their calculations accurately and apply these methods to a variety of problems.

They have been practising exchanging and ensuring their calculations are presented clearly and accurately.

In PSHE, we have been exploring complex emotions. 😊😟😑😰

The children discussed how people can experience a range of feelings at the same time and considered positive ways to manage and express their emotions.

This week in RE, we have been learning about different religious beliefs regarding how people reach heaven. πŸŒπŸ™

The children explored similarities and differences between religions and engaged in some thoughtful discussions about a β€˜Ticket to Heaven’.

The children have been researching key individuals and their contributions during World War II. They are now putting together reports which will be recorded using a green screen, allowing them to create their own professional-style presentations. πŸŽ₯πŸ–₯️
