Term 4, Week 5 (27/03/26)

⭐ Class Blog – Weekly Round-Up ⭐

What a fun and busy week we’ve had! πŸŽ‰
This week, we visited St Martin’s Church as part of our RE learning β›ͺ, and on Friday we headed to Kent Life to conclude our DT topic by exploring seasonal food 🌾πŸ₯•. The children loved discovering more about the farm and especially enjoyed making their own bread πŸ₯–β€” we truly had an amazing time! On both trips, the children demonstrated all of our school values and behaved beautifully. 🌟

It was also lovely to see so many of you at Parents’ Evening πŸ‘‹. Thank you for taking the time to come and speak about your child’s learning and progress.

✍️ English

After reading Pig Heart Boy by Malorie Blackman, the children spent the week planning the next chapter, writing it for their Hot Write, and then editing their work. A fantastic effort from everyone! πŸ“šβœ¨

βž— Maths

Year 5 have concluded their learning on area and perimeter and have moved on to statistics, where they practised drawing line graphs and interpreting data πŸ“‰πŸ“ˆ.
Year 6 explored finding the mean, measuring angles using a protractor, and identifying adjacent and vertically opposite angles. A week full of mathematical thinking and problem‑solving! πŸ”βœοΈ

πŸ”¬ Science

In Science, we looked at inheritance, discussing what traits we inherit from our parents. We also explored animals that do not resemble their parents and carried out research to write our own information pieces. Fascinating discoveries all around! 🐾🧬

🍽️ Design Technology

We completed our menus using a template on Word. The children worked carefully to present their dishes clearly and creatively. πŸ’»πŸ“

🎾 PE

In tennis, we continued practising ball control, improving more each week. Great focus and teamwork! πŸ’ͺ🎾

πŸ’» Computing

We continued our work on databases, exploring how and why they are used. Lots of curiosity and excellent questions! πŸ§ πŸ’‘
