Term 4, Week 4 (20/3/26)

What a fun week we've had! This week the children had a taster session of skateboarding and they absolutely loved it! There will be a skateboarding after‑school club starting after the Easter holidays, which will be organised by Mr Ramsden.

A huge shout‑out to Evie for showing brilliant resilience 💪 after taking a tumble and getting straight back up again. Amazing attitude! 🌟

Parents’ Evening

Parents’ Evening will be held on Tuesday 24th March and Thursday 26th March.
We look forward to seeing you if you’ve made an appointment 😊.

📚 English

This week we've continued reading Pig Heart Boy by Malorie Blackman. The children have:
✍️ Written diary entries from Cameron and Marlon
✉️ Written a letter to the doctor performing the heart transplant
🔍 Been focusing on editing skills, especially spelling and punctuation
🎬 Watched part of the film and compared it with the book

Great work all round! 📖✨

Maths

Year 5 have been working hard on area and perimeter, focusing on compound and rectilinear shapes 📏.

Year 6 have been reading and interpreting line graphs, bar charts and pie charts, and using percentages to solve problems involving pie charts. Brilliant effort! 📊👏

🌿 Science

In Science we explored plant adaptations and how different plants survive in various environments.
We looked at:
🌵 Cacti in the desert
🌼 Waterlilies surviving in water

🍽 DT

We’ve started designing our own seasonal menus using Word. We had some amazing names for the dishes! 🥕🍎💻

🎾 PE

Our Dance and Tennis lessons are coming along wonderfully:
💃 The Mission Impossible dance is getting more exciting each week!
🎾 In tennis, the children practised overarm serves and rallies.

🖥 Computing

We’ve been exploring databases—how they work and why they’re so useful. The children are exploring real-world examples – like online shopping! 🗂✨
