Term 2, Week 6 (5/12/25)

🎨 DT Alert!
We need your help! Please send in small recyclable boxes 📦 and bottle lids 🥤 for our exciting DT project. Over the next two weeks, we’ll be designing and building cars with pulleys 🚗⚙️.

✍️ English
This week, we became poets! 🖋️ We planned, wrote, edited, and performed our amazing poems for our Hot Write. 🌟 We even explored how to use colons and semi-colons at the end of the week.

➗ Maths
We’ve had some whole-class lessons due to school commitments, but that didn’t stop the learning! We launched a TTRS Tournament 🎮 between the three classes. Rowan Class are showing their competitive side 💪 and are determined to win!

• Year 5: Consolidating fractions 🍰
• Year 6: Tackled an Arithmetic SATs paper 📝 to see what’s coming and worked out where we need extra support.

🔬 Science
We continued exploring the human life cycle 👶➡️👵 and learned about the aging process—what happens to our bodies as we grow older.

🎭 Art
We created stunning collages and wrapped up our learning on Dadaism. 🎨✨

💬 PSHE
We talked about taking responsibility for our feelings ❤️. Through different scenarios, we discussed how we’d feel and how to manage those emotions. So important!

🏃 PE
Fitness and tag rugby are still going strong! 🏉 The children are smashing their fitness scores and showing amazing teamwork and determination. 💯

🎵 Musical
We explored songwriting 🎶 and the elements that make a great song—linking it to our poetry skills. Plus, we’ve started practicing our Christmas songs 🎄🎤. Festive vibes incoming!
