Term 2, Week 5 (28/11/25)

🎉 Wow – can you believe it’s the last week of November already?! Time really does fly when you’re learning and having fun!

📚 English: We’ve been diving deeper into rhythm and poetry through rap! 🎤 The class loved listening to more poems by Karl Nova and then got creative by planning, writing, and editing their own. First, we wrote about something special to us ❤️, and then another poem linked to Parliament Week. Confidence is growing every day – the performances have been amazing!

➗ Maths: Year 5 have been cracking fractions like pros, while Year 6 have been tackling measures. They’ve been converting metric units and even miles to kilometres 🚗💨. Lots of problem-solving too! Don’t forget – extra help is on the Year 6 SATs resources page on our website.

🏛️ PSHE: Parliament Week took over our afternoons! We learned all about the Houses of Parliament – what it is, where it is, who’s involved, and how laws are made. We even had our own debate on school uniform 👔 and our own ‘Rowan Party’ took on the opposition to pass a bill that made the school week 4 days; unfortunately, this bill did not pass as the children want school for 5 days a week! We have also drafted a letter to our local MP, Helen Grant, sharing our thoughts on issues that matter to us.

🏃 PE: Fitness and tag rugby are still going strong! The children are smashing their fitness scores and showing brilliant teamwork and determination. 💪

🌟 Evie – for showing growing resilience in all her learning and always being respectful.
🌟 Noah – for improving his presentation in writing and working hard to include Year 5/6 spelling words.
