Week ending 20/3/26

Welcome to our class blog, where learning comes alive with laughter and creativity! This week, we’ve been diving into the delightful world of English poetry. We explored the magic of rhyming couplets and alliteration, crafting verses that dance off the page like a playful breeze. Children on Friday worked together on an alliteration alphabet describing animals using adjectives that start with the same sound as the animal. My favourite was plucky penguin.

In Geography, we compared the charming cities of Milan and Maidstone, discovering their similarities and differences. It’s fascinating to see how two places can be so unique yet share common threads!

In RE, we reflected on the significant events of Holy Week, discussing their importance and the lessons they impart, before portraying these using pens, crayons and watercolour paints .

Our Art sessions have been another splash of colour. We practised backgrounds and painting techniques, using sponges and even rulers to spread paint across our pages like gentle rain.

Maths has been a whirlwind of fun! We started with doubling and halving, then moved on to measuring. Inspired by the book Actual Size, we measured animals and their parts, like a gorilla’s hand, before taking our measuring skills outside to explore meters. Varun, Blake, and Louie B have been busy building together with Lego, showcasing teamwork at its finest.

What a week of learning and laughter!
