Children observed the 2 minutes' silence on Tuesday and learnt about why we wear poppies in remembrance. They learnt facts about The Tower of London and wrote these for English. Did you know it housed a menagerie of wild animals in the past which were gifted to the kings at the time?
In Maths, children learnt how to read and write numbers in numerals and words all the way to 100, and in RE, children looked at the different ways some people, Christians in particular, believe in God.
In Science, children made houses from either metal, cardboard, plastic or Lego and then tested them against the elements. Rain was water from a bottle, hail was paper clips, wind was a fan and an earthquake was the chair being shaken!
In DT, children worked in small groups to use junk modelling to build a small structure to be freestanding and learnt that triangular bases are very effective to increase stability.
