Week ending 20th March 2026

The children have completed a long piece of writing this week as the culmination of our learning from the book Escape from Pompeii. It is lovely to see how their writing has improved over the terms and the vocabulary and features that they are now using.

In numeracy, Year 4 have been learning about fractions as decimals and how you can show the equivalents.  Year 3 have moved on to look at mass and capacity this week. They understood that mass is measured in grams or kilograms and used this to read scales accurately, identifying an objects mass. They finished the week by measuring objects found in the classroom and reading and recording their mass in grams (g) and kilograms (kg).

The children had an amazing time on Wednesday during our skateboarding session. After getting sorted with all the relevant safety equipment, the instructors taught the children some tricks and then showed them how to skate up and down the playground, keeping their feet on the board. They were much braver than me!

And finally, as the sun has finally made an appearance, please can you ensure that all jumpers, cardigans etc are named so that we can return these to the correct owner!

Have a lovely weekend
