Welcome parents to our latest weekly Cherry Class blog.
In Literacy, we have had an enjoyable week discussing, planning and writing our own poems and also performing them!
In Numeracy, both year groups focused on fractions; for Year 5 it was looking at fraction equivalents and Year 6 it was addition and subtraction of unit and non unit fractions, mixed and improper fractions.
In History this week we investigated the 'Round City of Baghdad' as part of our new topic 'What Price Progress' and how the city by the river developed into a super-city and became a magnet for learning, trade and ideas.
In DT we looked at female car engineers and the children designed their own sustainable future mode of travel!
In PE this week we had a Tag Rugby session on the playground where we concentrated on passing and today we went into the hall for a fitness session.
And in science we used our maths knowledge to represent data (gestation periods of mammals) into a chart - who knew that a elephant was pregnant for 600 days and a mouse for fewer than three weeks!
Take care everyone
Mr Ramsden
