In English this week we have read more of the Mayan story about the Hero Twins. This week we have continued to focus on adjectives and how to use these in expanded noun phrases. We wrote a character description for the Lords of Death and used this information to create an AI image of them.

In Maths, Year 5 have been learning how to divide with remainders looking at formal method to do this. Thy have also been problem solving within multiplication and division. Year 6 have been looking at decimal numbers. They have been rounding them, adding and subtracting them and ended the week by learning what happens to each digit when a decimal number is multiplied by 10,100 and 1,000.

In Science, we explored dissolving. We had a selection of solids: sugar, salt, flour, sand, coffee, oregano, pepper and we investigated what happened to it when it was mixed with water. We predicted, investigated and recorded what we found out.

In PSHE, we learnt about the advantages and disadvantages of using AI.

In RE, we recapped on the 5 Pillars of Islam. We learnt how and why prayer is so improtant to Muslims.

In gymnastics, we learnt about tension and counter balance. We worked in pairs to create a short sequence involving the 2 balances.

This week we have all signed into Teams and got our passwords. We will be using Teams to support our learning. Assignments might also be set as additional home learning.
