What an amazing Term 2 we have had. This week has been full of Christmas festivities. We have had; Christmas jumper day, Christmas school dinner, watched KS1’s nativity, sung Christmas songs to parents and finished the week off with a Christmas party. We also said goodbye to Tinsel the Elf who has been with us since 1st December. We had fun finding out what he had been up to. We shall miss him!!
In English this week we have continued to look at poems and focused on Twas The Night Before Christmas. We explored rhyming couplets and wrote our own version of it. We used our versions to write a Christmas card.
We have had Maths in our own classes most of this week and focused on applying mathematical skills to Christmas activities: co-ordinates, multiplication mosaics, recipes. We also completed activities on MyMaths.
In DT, we designed and made our cars out of recyclable materials. The children learnt about aerodynamics and drag.
In Art, we completed our learning on Futurism and created our own futuristic piece of Art work. The themes ranged from Social Media, AI and Netflix.
Mobile Phones
There are some children who do not have permission to bring their phones to school as parents have not completed the Microsoft Form. Your child has been told if they do not have permission. You can find the QR code for this on the school newsletter or click this link.
TTRS: The Battle of the Bands between Cedar, Rowan and Cherry is for one day only on Monday 5th January 2026. Please encourage your child to do it. Let’s see if Cedar Class can win!
