What a good start to our first week of Term 1.
In Literacy we looked at the text 'Stig of the Dump.' We have engaged in role play related to the first two chapters. Children also explored using different sentence types and use of expanded noun phrases. All children created amazing learning this week.
During our Maths sessions we learned about Number and Place value, as a class. Children all started to show good understanding. Next week, Year 4 and Year 3 will split for their Maths lessons.
For PE this week we were planning and creating our own dances. Next week, Walnut Class will have their PE every Tuesday afternoon and will engage in Outdoor and Adventurous Activities for the term. Children should come to school dressed in their PE kits.
During our History lesson, children were exploring the different tools that were used during Stone Age time and created their own, thinking about how different they were to modern tools. They enjoyed collecting lots of different items from the field to create their own Stone Age tools. We were also exploring different Stone Age artefacts.
We used different techniques on how to use oil pastels during our Art lesson this week. Children thoroughly enjoyed that!
Have a lovely weekend.
