Week 3 is over and we are already half way through the term!
In Literacy this week, we have been writing formal letters based on our text the Demon Headmaster. We have learnt how to use brackets, dashes and commas to indicate parenthesis and have tried to include this in our learning when writing formally.
In Maths, Year 5 have been learning about the bus stop method. This is a formal method of division and the layout will support children when dividing large numbers. Year 6 have now finished ratio and proportion and have moved on to algebra. We looked at how to represent unknown numbers in expressions.
In Science, we have used materials to make circuits and represent them in written form with the correct scientific symbols. This linked to our DT and Computing where we are designing and programming a light show using Tinkercad.
Next week, Rowan will have their class assembly on Friday morning to share more about what they have learnt so far this term. If you are available, it would mean a lot to the children to see a familiar face cheering them on and taking an interest in their learning.
