Rowan Class have done some fantastic learning this week.
In Literacy, we have been demonstrating our narrative writing skills by using character, dialogue and action to advance events in narrative writing. The children have shown real resilience and have linked their knowledge from our Time Tunnel topic to ensure that the events and items they use are historically accurate to their story depicting the experience of an evacuee.
In PSHE, we have been building on our knowledge of respect and understand how to resolve conflict through negotiation and compromise. We practiced how to be respectful listeners by maintaining eye contact, showing positive body language (nodding) and trying to understand the other person's point of view.
Our Science experiment this week developed our understanding of surface tension - recognising and controlling variables where necessary. Children had to have a steady hand to try and ensure their dense paperclip met the conditions needed to float the paper clip on water.
In Topic (History), we have been learning about the causes of The Blitz. Children worked together to evaluate the most likely reasons for the Blitz attack during WW2.
