Last day of term! This term has raced along, although the start of term seems such a long time ago when we began back in September.
In Literacy, we finished our extended writing linked to Goodnight Mr Tom, checked and edited it and then moved onto antonyms and synonyms later in the week.
In maths, Year 5 moved into the realm of multiples and factors and please may I ask all parents to check their child's understanding of times tables (up to 12 x 12) as next term we will spend a lot of time looking at multiplication and division, including problem solving. Year 6 have been developing the skills to attempt long division problems.
In Science, we conducted an enjoyable investigation into surface tension and what we needed to do to make a paper clip float in water!!
On Wednesday, we had a 'slightly' different day as we went off site and spent the day at the British Museum, looking at artefacts from around the world and through the ages that tied in with our topic 'The Time Tunnel' and last year's learning linked to the Mayans for Year 6 and the Ancient Egyptians for Year 5!
Well done for all your efforts this term - have a lovely week off and we'll see you back in 10 days time.
Regards
Mr Ramsden & Mrs Ashford
