So, the final week has now been completed and the end of a very busy term.
The children completed their big block of literacy learning this term linked to poems, and wrote their own examples linked to Christmas and illustrated them brilliantly also.
The weather put pay to separate year group numeracy sessions, with the exception of our last Year 5 session on Thursday, where we looked through everything we have learnt about fractions. I have been very pleased by the progress the children have made throughout the term and in the new year we will have a short break from fractions, and look at multiplication and division. Times tables is crucial for this area, and I would be very happy if you would be able to spend some time with your children over the Christmas period to quiz your children and to help them consolidate their understanding of times tables up to 12 x 12.
We finalised our topic learning linked to rivers with an ICT session, using laptops to design our own bridges. Some of the finished articles were excellent and showed real attention to detail.
Well done for all your hard work over this term and last. Myself and Mrs Ashford wish you a merry Christmas and a great holiday.
See you in 2023!
Mr Ramsden & Mrs Ashford
